Es un pionero de la TV hispana en Estados Unidos. Alcanzó gran éxito como productor, supervisor y/o director de exitosas telenovelas como La cruz de papel; Escándalo; El cisne blanco; Los Donatti y Angélica, mi vida, entre otras. También produjo y dirigió la miniseriemás exitosa de la TV puertorriqueña: Las divorciadas, con el reconocido actor y cantante

Chayanne y la destacada actriz Venezolana-Puertorriquenia, Mara Croatto. Allí creó Producciones La Piaf, Inc., para la cual escribió, produjo y dirigió una versión musical teatral sobre la vida de Edith Piaf que hizo historia en el país. Y es que Marrero tiene sangre de artista desde niño.

A los ocho años ya sabía que su vida y su carrera estarían dedicadas a la TV. A esa edad era actor de radio, su primer amor, y de ahí a la TV solo hubo un paso.

Cumplida la mayoría de edad, partió hacia California para estudiar actuación pero su fuerte acento hispano fue una gran traba. Gracias a eso se volcó de lleno a estudiar producción y dirección. Además, hizo un post grado en cine en la U.C.L.A donde tuvo como compañero a Francis Ford Coppola con quien años más tarde trabajaría en El padrino, fue premiado internacionalmente en Andy).

Pero en 1974, en el Festival Internacional de Cine y TV de Nueva York, logró lo que ningún otro director consiguió: El Gran Premio del Festival y las medallas de Oro, Plata y Bronce por cada una de sus cuatro producciones.

Luego haber hecho largometrajes, series, musicales, unitarios y eventos internacionales de TV, su carrera dio un giro en 1980 cuando Spanish International Network (S.I.N.) -UNIVISION lo contrató como vicepresidente de Producción. Fue asi como adquirió dos estaciones en Estados Unidos. Su regreso a Puerto Rico fue a raiz de la adquisición de parte del canal WAPA-TV - Canal 4 lanzandose de lleno a la TV hispana internacional,

trabajando y coproduciendo con gigantes de la industria como la familia Delgado Parker y la familia Crousillat de Perú; los Cisneros de Venezuela, los Azcárraga de México y la familia Romay y Goar Mestre en Argentina.

Las producciones siguieron convirtiéndose en una larga lista de éxitos.

Luego de once años,Marrero aceptó la invitación de la TC Televisión, Canal 10 –Ecuador- y se fue a Quito a producir Mi conciencia y yo. Lo nombraron gerente de la División Internacional y Nuevos Proyectos de la cadena comprendida por los canales TC Televisión, GamaVisión y Cable

TV. Allí fue productor y director de la exitosa serie Las mujeres de Pocholo y se asoció a la compañía IMáGICA Producciones, S.A., de la cual fue su director general. También realizó infinidad de comerciales para importantes marcas, pero su súper producción fue Models New Generation 2006, transmitido en más de 100 países con una audiencia de más de

1,000 millones de televidentes. La situación política de Ecuador, lo llevó de regreso a Miamidonde trabaja en la productora The Image Boutique, Inc., la cual le servirá de trampolín para nuevos proyectos de cine y TV.

Having been born "in the trunk" of a theatrical family in Puerto Rico, Frank Marrero started out as a child and later juvenile actor in Puerto Rico. At seventeen he went to study acting at the famous Pasadena Playhouse College of Theater Arts where two of his college mates were Gene Hackman and Dustin "Dusty" Hoffman. He spoke perfect English but with a thick Spanish accent and the Hollywood casting directors in their stereotypical wisdom kept telling him that he sounded Spanish but he certainly didn't look it! Frank then hired a phonetics teacher who told him that in two years he would be speaking English without a trace of an accent, so he changed his classes to Production and Directing while this happened. Fortunately, by the time he got rid of his accent, he wasn't interested in acting anymore and after a stint studying cinematography at UCLA, he started working at Universal and has not stopped since.

48 international and national awards later, including the Grand Award at the International Film and TV Festival of New York, The Prix Jenneux" in Japan, an Emmy, a Clio and and Andy, he has gravitated between films, television and theater as a producer, writer, director and Network Executive with PBS Affiliates in Austin, Hartford, Boston, Miami & New York, and The Spanish International Network (S.I.N.) which later became UNIVISION. He was a partner and Vice President in Charge of Production of WAPA-TV, Channel 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Administrative and Production Consultant to the Ecuadorean National Television Network and recently to the Continental Television Network for the United States.
